The investigators offer their guards a cigarette. Sharing a smoke, the US soldiers reveal that the POW is being held in the town's school, which has been converted into a field hospital. The agents are taken to be questioned. Major Riley, the commander of the camp, interrogates the squad on their mission. When they mention the prisoner exchange, Riley states he has no knowledge of such an arrangement. The agents decide to come clean about their real mission to investigate Black Sun, but the Major isn't buying it.
A man emerges from the shadows as the squad is about to be taken away. He says he is Sergeant Bill Miller and that he believes your story. He wants to know the last location of the Black Sun troops, but the squad demands to know more about him before sharing information. Miller states that he is working with a British intelligence unit known as 'Section D', before Major Riley silences him and sends the squad back to their cell.
Back in the broken-down barn, the investigators discover that one of their guards is succumbing to the same madness as the captain did back on the farm. They warn the other soldier, but he isn't able to prevent his partner from going crazy and attacking him. The agents dispatch the psycho whilst he is busy mutilating the other US soldier. Leaving the cell, they head towards the Major Riley's quarters, hoping to team up with the still sane US troops.
The investigators find Major Riley lying bloodied on the ground – his attacker rushes at the squad, but is gunned down before he can cause injury. Out in the street, the squad finds Miller surrounded by insane US soldiers. They decide to help the sergeant, defeating the mad men but sustaining heavy damage. Miller shares some medical supplies with the squad before they move on towards the field hospital.
Out in the streets, the squad spots Black Sun troopers moving into the camp. The trench-coated and gas-masked soldiers appear to be methodically purging each street, eliminating all the US soldiers with assault rifles and flame throwers. The agents decide to take the stealthy route through the alleyways – they meet some troopers, but remain undetected. Arriving at the field hospital, they see some Black Sun guys are already there. The agents don't want to take any chances – they dowse the building in fuel and set it ablaze.
Black Sun soldiers appear and open fire. The agents and Sergeant Miller engage the troopers but they are outnumbered. After a vicious and bloody battle, they are beaten. Adam appears and orders his men to take Miller and Van de Berg captive – he tells them to kill the rest of the investigators. Before they can act, the troopers' guns fire. Miller tells Adam he won't get away with what he's done, but Adam steps in close and reveals his true nature – the lower part of his face has transformed into a tangle of foul tentacles! With a brutal blow, the evil beast knocks the two men unconscious...
