Looking around the farm seems like a good place to start. The squad finds the farm owner fixing a tractor in a nearby shed and leaves Avery to help with the job. Moving on, the investigators see the three Black Sun scientists heading over to the far building – the guards enter the building with them, leaving a brief opportunity to approach.
Squad leader Van de Berg sneaks behind the building, peering through the windows. Inside, he sees the captain, tied up and connected to a strange machine – a mask and headphones covers his head. The scientists and soldiers leave the room. Van de Berg climbs in the window and inspects the machine. It contains reels of tape which are playing sounds into the prisoner's ears – whatever it is, the machine appears to be sending him insane. Van de Berg turns off the machine...
As soon as the device is switched off, the captain starts to scream and convulse. The squad leader hides in the adjacent storeroom, watching as one of the scientists and the Black Sun troopers enter. Before they can act, the captain breaks free from the chair and proceeds to savage the soldiers in a brutal attack. Van de Berg has seen enough – he escapes the shed and rejoins the squad.
The squad moves in on the building, calling for the Black Sun soldiers patrolling the farm to help. The psychotic captain bursts out of the shed, attacking the investigators. Although his madness has given him increased strength and speed, he can't withstand the squad's accurate gunshots. The captain's limp body falls to the ground – should the investigators move in and inspect it, or stay back and observe?
The investigators close in on the corpse of the mad soldier. The eyes are glowing with a disturbing blue colour. Adam appears behind you and torches the body with a flame thrower. The major also arrives on the scene – he isn't happy at all, and informs the squad that they will receive new orders in two hours.
Deciding to spend their brief respite sleeping, the squad meets with Engel and learns of their new mission. Standing next to the major is another POW – his face is masked and he sways in a dazed fashion. The squad must take this POW to a US camp in the Belgian town of Kalterherberg, and exchange him for sergeant Dietrich Hitzig, a German officer being held prisoner. There's one other thing – Adam will be accompanying the investigators...
Gathering their gear, the squad climbs onto the armoured car and heads off towards the forests of the Ardennes. They dump the car as they get closer to the enemy lines, approaching on foot. The investigators want to find out more about POW, so they stage a distraction to get him away from Adam. When they try to interact with the prisoner, he begins to chant a dark spell of some sort, but stops when they leave him alone.
Without warning, bullets begin to fly through the air – an American force is attacking! Adam vanishes and the squad decides to surrender and explain their mission. The US soldiers take them captive. Although the investigators try to warn them, the Americans still approach the POW – he begins his unholy incantations again, until the gruff US squad leader knocks him out.
The US infantry soldiers take the investigators back to their camp at Kalterherberg. Even though they try to explain that they have been sent to exchange prisoners, the investigators are held captive in a barn. Should they wait and see if the misunderstanding is cleared up, or try to get out?
